In general, the Nugget is a great property. Personally, I would be hoping my hotel messed something up, so I got free upgrades and services.

It usually works out better for the consumer when that happens. Every property except maybe the Wynn has weekly issues where guests go to a room that hasn't been turned yet. The Nugget will swap you to another room if you have issues with your room. We're thinking of splitting time between GN and Rio, and we're splurging for nice rooms at both: Spa Suite at GN and penthouse at Rio. It was nice and the best thing about it is being able to walk out the door and be right in the middle of the Freemont Street Experience. We've actually stayed at the Golden Nugget before, but it was about 14 years ago. Have to take them with a grain of salt-a massive one. And there are also people who will slam a place if they happen to see a napkin on the floor. Also, the people who have a bad experience tend to post the most reviews. But I'm trying to remember that we just went through a pandemic and it's going to take a while for hotels to recover back to normal operations and levels of service, cleanliness, etc.

I've been reading a ton of hotel reviews for both GN and Rio, and both scare me. We're going early next year for our 25th anniversary (well, 26th, but the pandemic cancelled all our plans).
